Ki-30 Ann (Pavla 1/72) - Part III

Following the painting, I airbrushed a coat of gloss varnish and applied the decals, which were terrible (very old), so a coat of Liquid Decal film by Microscale made them usable.
The white bands were also masked and painted.

Ki-30 Ann (Pavla 1/72) - Part II

I added the headlights on the wings and finally glued all the main parts together. There are big fit issues with this one and much patience, styrene pieces and putty is needed to obtain a good result. There is no engraved "socket" on the fuselage for the vacformed canopy to seat, so the canopy looks a bit akward. Finally, I masked the canopy and airbrushed surfacer.

Soon with more pictures from the progress....

Ki-30 Ann (Pavla 1/72) - Part I

The Mitsubishi Ki-30 (九七式軽爆撃機 Kyunana-shiki keibakugekiki?) was a Japanese light bomber of World War II. It was a single-engine, mid-wing, cantilever monoplane of stressed-skin construction with a fixed tailwheel undercarriage and a long transparent cockpit canopy. The type had significance in being the first Japanese aircraft to be powered by a modern two-rowradial engine. During the war, it was known by the Allies by the name Ann.
